Hi! I’m Andy Neering,
“The Home Inspector” & owner of Neering Inspections LLC
I started Neering Inspections after a 35 year career in residential construction as a Carpenter Contractor & licensed Builder.
In the mid 80’s I settled in the greater Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti area after spending six years out West working as a carpenter and learning my trade. Soon after moving to Ann Arbor I started Neering Building & Carpentry, a company primarily focused on rough framing, building new homes and remodeling.
In 2011 as the last recession was coming to an end a friend who had been a home inspector for 20yrs made the suggestion that with my background I would make a great home inspector.
Over the next winter I thought about what he said and researched the home inspection business. In the following spring of 2012 I trained with The American Society of Home Inspectors, passed the National Home Inspection Examination and opened the doors to Neering Inspections.
Making my living building homes from the ground up has given me an eye for structure & detail that can only be gained through years of experience. As a home inspector I combine residential and commercial building experience with continuing education and hard work to provide you with the best home inspection possible.

- Certified by the Washtenaw County health department to perform Time of Sale well & septic inspections
